The refurbishment works included a partial demolition of the existing flooring and some of the shopfront elements and reframing the existing shopfront bulkhead to double its height.
This retail refurbishment at Elizabeth City Centre gave a popular confectionery store a fresh new look while allowing it to continue attracting customers with its unique range of sweets and snacks from around the world. Completed in just one and a half weeks, the project focused on modernising the shopfront by enhancing visibility and overcoming several complex construction challenges within the existing space.
Known for stocking customer favourites from the USA, Canada and other international destinations, this confectionery store wanted a shopfront that reflected its vibrant personality and stood out within the shopping centre. The refurbishment began with the partial demolition of the existing flooring and selected shopfront elements before the existing bulkhead was rebuilt to almost double its original height. This simple but effective change created a much stronger street presence and gave the store a bold new identity. The new bulkhead was clad with black engineered timber floorboards which provided a striking contrast against the playful white stencil graphics inspired by candy and confectionery. Bright LED neon signs were installed on both sides of the corner shopfront which created an eye-catching feature that naturally draws customersattention from multiple directions.
While the completed refurbishment appears seamless, several aspects of the project required careful planning and skilled craftsmanship.
One of the most technically demanding elements involved manufacturing and installing new shelving along an existing curved shopfront wall. Matching the curve precisely required custom fabrication to achieve a clean and consistent finish. The team also designed and installed aluminium capping beneath the existing curved bulkhead by ensuring every detail aligned perfectly with the upgraded shopfront.
These challenges were successfully resolved through practical problem-solving and attention to detail which resulted in a high-quality finish that blended effortlessly with the existing structure.
Completing the project within just one and a half weeks required careful coordination and efficient project management. Every stage of the refurbishment was planned to minimise disruption while delivering a finished store that feels brighter, more modern and far more visible within the shopping centre.
The updated shopfront now reflects the fun and energetic nature of the business while providing a welcoming retail environment for customers.
